European University of Tirana (UET, Albania)
The European University of Tirana (UET) is a leading higher education institution and VET provider in Albania, committed to high-quality teaching, research, and vocational training. Established in full compliance with the Bologna Process, UET offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate programs in economy, finance, business, law, social sciences, political sciences, communication, information technology, architecture, engineering, and technical medicine.
As a VET provider, UET integrates vocational training and lifelong learning programs that focus on bridging the skills gap between education and labor market needs. The institution works closely with businesses, governmental agencies, and industry leaders to develop competency-based learning pathways that equip students with practical and job-ready skills.
UET is an active participant in European-funded projects, including:
- Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) – Participating in over 20 projects as a coordinator and partner.
- Jean Monnet Chair & Centre of Excellence – Leading EU policy research and education in Albania and the Western Balkans.
- COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Program – Supporting international research collaboration.
- Erasmus+ KA1 Credit Mobility – Facilitating student and staff exchange programs across Europe.
UET has established the Labour Market Boards, which consist of highly qualified professionals from government, business, civil society, and academia. These boards provide critical insights into workforce demands, helping UET align study programs and vocational training with market needs while also offering job placement and internship opportunities to students. The university is also a member of major international academic networks, including Next Europe (focused on Southeast Europe research) and UNIMED (Mediterranean Universities Union), which promote cross-border collaboration in education, research, and innovation.
